    The Melbourne Design Guide

The Melbourne Design Guide - 2009
Depending upon which side you’re looking at this one from it’ll look like a different book. That’s not an attempt at humour, this lovely little book containing some of Melbourne’s creative highlights has covers on both the front and the back. Or the front and the front. Whatever.

Look out for some of our clients in there: ISM Objects and Safari Living. We’re also quite pleased that Alter is included.

     MMOP Posters

‘Remember The Fundamentals’ (320 x 450) and ‘Alter’ (320 x 450)  were our contributions to the Melbourne Museum Of Printing’s fundraiser on Sunday May 17 2009. It turned out to be a great day with a fantastic turnout, letterpress demonstrations, live music from The Primitive Calculators, and $5 snags. Thanks to Warren and the MMOP family for asking us to be part of such a special event.

    Easter Surprise
Surprises! I love surprises! The guys at Bimbo and Lucky are doing something special for Easter this year. Never know, I might get down there for a vodka/pizza. That’d be a surprise.

Bicycle Film Festival / The Art Of The Bicycle

Titled ‘Run Faster With Less Motion, our contribution to the Bicycle Film Festival exhibition The Art of the Bicycle‘ was this decal sheet of imaginary bicycle graphics. It was a great night with some excellent art and design on show.
We finally got around to hanging it up in the studio stairwell. It involved some dare-devil ladder work from Jono, and lots of magical red tape of the helpful variety.
And thanks Misa for the tape tip.

    Sound Bubble
A new identity for Ron Fountenberry of the Softlightes. This one should be fun, we’ll post the site when it’s online.

    The Art of Flooring
Now I know you’re going to say that this is an industry that has a perpetual CLOSING DOWN SALE sign in the window. ”They’re always on sale,” you continue. Well in this case I’m saying it isn’t so. If you’re in the market for a very nice piece for your home I’d recommend you visit Loom. They don’t do sales all that often.

    Cover

Okay, so having decided that we should begin the new year online here is a quick post-cum-explanation. If you are one of those people ‘lucky’ enough to have received this at or around Christmas time who have responded in confusion, mirth and various other states… we thank you. Past, Presents, Future represents the culmination of our research into The Future of Man. As you can see, the outcomes of our laborious studies have been as accurate in their prediction as any other expert studies you could care to name.

I’m pretty sure we’re on for a Nobel.

    The Numbers / Lee Gallery

10 artists were asked to represent the ten digits of our numerical system on 3D wooden numbers. We got #1, and made and Alter skateboard based on one of the 1st plywood skateboard, the classic Alva deck. It sold too!
