Bardee
Bardee have honed a full circle process of transforming food waste to produce protein for the food industry, fertilisers and more.
Bardee presented a rare opportunity for us to create an identity for a truly transformative new business. An agent of change, Bardee completes a full circle process from food waste to food production underpinned by an innocuous and apparently fairly lazy species of fly. Our Bardee logo is an infinite ‘B’ transformed into a super fly. It’s the Clark Kent of insects.
The broader Bardee identity incorporates visual themes of micro/macro, that repeat throughout science and are inspired by the patterns created by the compound lens of the fly’s eye. We’ve used Klim fonts in this one, Sohné Kraftig and Sohné Mono Leight pairing for the perfect contemporary expression of a very human scientific endeavour.

Employing a distinctly digital palette, bright colours speak to the technological achievement that make the Bardee process possible. When applied to packaging for large retailers such as Bunnings, the colours combine with a system of iconography to establish an entirely new position on the shelves.
